FAMOUS ARTIST Kerri Carter Beasley
Kerri Carter Beasley is a costume artist specializing in “cosplay” – recreations of the designs of characters from comic books, film, anime, video games, and other media. Construction of cosplay costumes goes beyond sewing and pattern-making and often incorporates armor building, 3D modeling and printing, special effects makeup, the use of LED lighting, and other advanced techniques.
She has won awards for her costuming work nationwide and has been a featured guest at comic book and media conventions, where she teaches workshops and judges costume competitions. Her work has been featured in various local and international publications including Marvel Comics, Refinery29, South Florida Sun-Sentinel, and Comics Alliance.
At the Museum, Kerri teaches children and teen classes for building one’s own cosplay costume.
