Opening Reception: “Underneath the Surface of Sight” by Lisa McNamara and “Casa Dolce Casa” by Tommaso Fattovich
Step into the world of abstract art and explore the works of two renowned artists, Lisa McNamara and Tommaso Fattovich. These two side-by-side exhibitions offer a powerful exploration of the human experience through contrasting, yet deeply complementary approaches to abstract art. On view January 16 to February 21.
Lisa MacNamara creates mixed-media paintings and sculptures inspired by the inner architecture of the body, such as skin, cells and energy channels in addition to early fascinations with journalistic photography. Together, the artists present an immersive, emotionally resonant exhibition that invites viewers to discover new layers of connection, introspection, and response.
Tommaso Fattovich is a Milan-born, self-taught abstract painter who contributes dynamic works rooted in automatism and his signature “Abstract Punk” style. Rejecting traditional techniques in favor of raw, visceral mark-making, he uses his hands and unconventional tools to build gritty, textured surfaces influenced by decaying urban environments.
