During this hour\, guests who desire a calmer experience can enjoy the Museum during a low-traffic hour outside of our normal programming. The Museum is proud to be Sensory Inclusive certified by KultureCity® \, a leading nonprofit dedicated to promoting inclusivity and accessibility. \nAdditionally\, Sensory kits are always available at the Museum Front Desk for anyone in need. \nNO RSVP is required. Admission is free.

DESCRIPTION:Join Adriana Herrera\, PhD\, independent writer\, curator\, and co-founder of Aluna Art Foundation\, for a public talk on “Ancestral Lines” and the history of textile art that has spanned the generations. This lecture on textile art will allow listeners to intertwine distant times\, and will offer a deeper perspective on both the origin and influence of the textile works gathered by Fiber Arts Miami Association (FAMA\,) which celebrates and preserves ancestral memory.  Anyone interested in learning about textile traditions and their effect on contemporary art is encouraged to attend.

DESCRIPTION:Textile waste is a pressing issue that requires innovative solutions. Transforming Threads is a hands-on workshop\, organized by FAMA\, that aims to educate participants on sustainable textile practices by repurposing fibers into yarn. Through this process\, participants will gain a deeper understanding of upcycling while engaging in a creative activity that celebrates both individuality and heritage.
