Trauma. Where there are no words, there is art.
Throughout the ages art has been found to depict thousands of events; from the beautiful to the traumatic. The visual arts have been known to inspire, educate, and heal. The Coral Springs Museum of Art is honored to welcome guests to programs designed to allow expression in the absence of words. All programs are professionally facilitated by a board certified art therapist and funded through the generosity of our dedicated partners.
Healing with Art – Tuesdays
3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m
Designed for pre-teen and teens, students are encouraged to come together and create art in the peaceful setting of the museum’s gallery. Projects vary and incorporate the use of acrylic paints, collage, colored pencils, or sharpies. Participants enjoy snacks and therapuetic art making with their friends.
Art for Educators – Thursdays
5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Coral Springs Museum of Art invites educators and administrators to take part in a variety of art offerings that are both creative and stress reducing. Attendees will enjoy painting, drawings and other creative projects alongside colleagues and fellow teachers.
Art for Educators and Healing with Art have been made possible with support from the Community Foundation of Broward Funds: Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Margaret Garrison and Mary and Alex Mackenzie Community Impact Fund, and COTA Foundation, Scott Schneider and the Coral Springs Auto Mall.
Art for Warriors – Thursdays
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
The Coral Springs Museum of Art is so grateful for the service given by our women and men of the military and invites our country’s war heroes to take part in a variety of offerings that are both creative and therapeutic. While working with a board certified art therapist for weekly sessions, veterans will enjoy painting, drawing and other creative projects along side fellow veterans.
Art for Warriors has been made possible by DAV Charitable Service Trust and is free of charge for all veterans.
