DESCRIPTION:The Coral Springs Museum of Art will fill its galleries with hundreds of original artworks\, only to intentionally clear them again\, during Empty Walls\, a fundraising exhibition and sale on Saturday\, March 21\, from 5:30 to 9 PM. The event invites the public to help “empty the walls” by purchasing original 6-by-6-inch works created and donated by artists of all skill levels and mediums. Each piece will be sold for $25\, with proceeds supporting museum art programming and helping sustain free public access to the arts. \nFundraiser Event:\n– FREE for Active Museum Members + Contributing Artists\n– $10 for Early Entry Tickets \nEvent Schedule:\n5:30 PM to 6:30 PM: Museum Member + Exhibiting Artists | FREE\n6:30 PM to 7:30 PM: Early Entry Ticket Holders | $10\n7:30 PM to 9 PM: General Public | FREE \nFor those wishing to preview the artwork\, Empty Walls will be on view beginning March 4\, alongside three additional exhibitions. Premier student artwork will be featured in the Superintendent’s Advanced Placement Studio Art Exhibition\, presented in partnership with Broward County Public Schools\, showcasing outstanding Advanced Placement works by Broward County high school students and highlighting the strength of arts education across the district. \nFlorida Panthers fans and art enthusiasts alike can experience The Home Team by Lauren Sopourn\, a photographic series printed on metal documenting the Florida Panthers’ historic back-to-back Stanley Cup runs and the collective spirit that united Broward County over two seasons; the exhibition will be on view in the Center for the Arts Lobby Hall Gallery through March 28. \nIn addition\, Imitation of Life by Dario Feal will be presented in the Main Gallery. The immersive installation invites viewers into a reconstructed cinematic environment inspired by mid-century modern visual language and the emotional architecture of film\, combining elements of set design\, sculpture and conceptual art to explore how domestic spaces reflect identity\, illusion and memory. \nLauren Sopourn and Dario Feal will be in attendance at the Empty Walls Fundraiser event to answer questions and provide insight into their art. DESCRIPTION:Explore the human form in this eight-week live nude figure drawing class designed for artists of all levels\, from beginners to advanced. This course encourages careful observation with creative expression in a structured and supportive environment. Be among the first view the new exhibit and meet the exhibiting artists! \nFriday\, April 10 \n6 to 9 PM\nFREE and Open to the Public \nAbout the Exhibition:\nMarmoris\, from the Latin word for marble\, evokes both the classical weight of artistic legacy and the enduring textures of time and transformation. This exhibition draws from the Deering Estate’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) archive\, presenting a curated selection of works that reflect the depth and diversity of artistic inquiry fostered on-site over the past two decades. This second iteration expands the original framework to include works by current residents\, alongside new projects developed by past participants. Marmoris 2 will be on view through May 23. \nThis archival selection underscores the AIR program’s long-standing commitment to process-based exploration and place-based creation. Marmoris 2 invites viewers to consider how artistic practices preserve\, question\, and reshape collective memory by revisiting pivotal works and moments from the residency’s legacy. The exhibition stands as both a reflective monument and a living platform for future inquiry\, where what has been carved endures\, and what is ephemeral becomes part of an ever-evolving artistic topography. \nAbout Deering Estate\nDeering Estate\, located at 16701 SW 72 Ave. in Miami\, is a 21st Century house museum\, cultural and ecological field station\, and a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places\, owned by the State of Florida and managed by Miami-Dade County Parks\, Recreation and Open Spaces Department. DESCRIPTION:Build confidence and strengthen your core drawing skills in this 4-week workshop designed to provide a solid foundation in the arts. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to drawing after a break\, this course provides a supportive introduction to the essential tools and techniques of observational drawing. \nOver four weeks\, you’ll explore key concepts such as line\, shape\, proportion\, shading\, texture\, and perspective. Through guided exercises and focused studies\, you’ll learn how to really see your subject and translate what you observe onto the page. We’ll work with a variety of simple still-life setups and reference materials to help you develop accuracy\, depth\, and expressive mark-making. \nEach session includes demonstrations\, hands-on practice\, and individual guidance to help you grow at your own pace.
