Creativity meets self-discovery in the lab! In a supportive, inspiring museum setting, students experiment with a variety of art mediums while developing their artistic voice and technical skills. Guided by professional teaching artists, teens are encouraged to take creative risks, explore new ideas, and connect with peers who share their passion for art. Whether building a portfolio or simply creating for the joy of it, Teen Art Labs offers a space to grow, express and belong!

SPRING LABS:

Zine Making
Welcome to Teen Lab, where teens get to be themselves and make art along with our instructors. In Zine Making, we’ll do just that! We’ll learn everything about making a catchy and fun Mini magazine to capture everyone’s imagination and help Teens to share their visions with the world. All supplies are included.

Tuesdays | March 24 to April 28

Short Films
Teens will work on a short film, exploring everything from script writing, thumbnailing, to filming – they’ll create a moving masterpiece of their very own! All supplies are included.

Pottery
In our Pottery session, Teens will explore the basics of forming functional shapes with clay using hand building techniques. From pinch pots, to coil technique and slabs, each Teen will make their own unique pottery. All supplies are included.

Home Study at the Museum: Comics 101
This 2-hour creative class gives homeschool students the chance to socialize and learn in a small-scale classroom setting. Teens get to be themselves and make art along with our instructors while learning the fundamentals of Comic Book design. From narrative and character development to thumbnails and various hatching and cross-hatching techniques, this class will serve as a broad overview of what it takes to create a comic book. All supplies are included.

SUMMER LABS:

Dates: June 8 through July 31

Summer Labs give teens the chance to dive deeper into their creativity through focused, skill-building studio sessions. Offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 PM to 6 PM, these immersive workshops explore a range of mediums and techniques while encouraging students to experiment, refine their craft, and develop their unique artistic voice.

PRIVATE + GROUP LESSONS

Private Class Lessons
Looking for one on one instruction? Private classes are great for artists that are interested in developing their skills and advancing them to the next level. These special lessons are especially great for artists who prefer focused one on one instruction or for someone who can’t make it to a scheduled group class. Please include the times, days, and class subject you are interested in. Let us help create a class just for you! We look forward to developing your next private class experience. Each session is 1hr at $60 per session. Register for as many sessions as you would like.
