This 2-hour class blends fine art techniques with your child’s own creative expression. Ceramics – Young Potters
This introduction to hand building class will teach the beginning methods of creating ceramic pieces. In the first session students will enjoy using clay techniques that include coil, pinch, and slabs. The second session will focus on continuing these techniques while exploring carving, stamping and textures in pottery. Sessions don’t repeat so you can sign up multiple times with no prior experience. This class will work on different projects weekly, and the last class we will glaze and fire all the work. Pick up of finished work the following week. Open studio hours are not available for these classes. Please bring your own hand towel and smock. Supplies are included.

Fashion Illustration + Fundamentals

In this course, students will have fun exploring the fun world of fashion! Students will start by designing outfits using markers, paint and mixed media on paper. This course introduces students to the basics of throwing pottery and provides them with an understanding of ceramic terms, processes and knowledge needed to use the pottery studio safely and independently. Topics include centering clay, throwing basic forms, handles and glazing. Sessions include demonstrations and practice time under the guidance of the instructor. Students are encouraged to practice between class sessions and have free access to the pottery studio. New students may miss no more than two classes and must attend the first class and the glazing class. Hand building experience is not required but recommended. Continuing Wheel Throwing
This class is designed for those who have taken beginner wheel or have had wheel throwing experience and need further refinement in basic throwing skills in order to progress to more challenging levels. Continuing Handbuilding
Through a combination of demonstrations and individual work time, students will further develop their hand building skills while making distinctive pieces guided by instructor. A variety of construction techniques will include soft slabs, stiff slabs, and coils. Students will learn to add flair and professionalism to their pieces by adding finishing touches such as feet and handles. Clay as Canvas
Many are familiar with clay being used to create pottery and sculpture, but it can also be formed into flat surfaces intended to highlight color and shape. In this course, students will create assorted canvases of clay that are painted with glaze to create beautiful wall-hanging art. Hanging mechanisms and mixed-media considerations are also explored. Students are encouraged to practice between class sessions and will have free access to our pottery studio. Pottery Sampler
Have you ever been curious about working with clay, but felt unsure of committing to a whole course? Then this is the class for you! Pottery Sampler allows you to come into our Ceramics studio and try out working with clay on the potters’ wheel. After the single session, you will select one piece and we will dry, fire and glaze your work. (You will select the glaze color) Once your work is completed you will be contacted for pickup. Portrait Drawing
This class is designed to learn how to draw the portrait working from a cast, face cast and photo references. Students will learn about forms, values, halftones, hard and soft lines as well as relationship lines. With the knowledge of what lies beneath the skin, coupled with learning about structural planes, students will have a better understanding to complete a portrait from a photo reference utilizing the information learned in the previous lessons. Figure Drawing
If you want to learn anatomy and how to draw the figure, this course is for you. From gestural-action line poses students will build the figure through proportion, shape, value, and relationship lines. Intro to Acrylic
Students will work with concepts of color theory, color mixing, textures, and brushwork techniques. You will learn the foundation of using acrylics and successfully complete at least 2 painting by the end of the class. Beginning Sewing
Sewing is a skill for people. From making small repairs to making complete wardrobes, sewing provides for our basic, and not so basic, clothing needs. Sewing can also produce both practical articles and gifts. In this class students will brush up or learn basic hand sewing while making repairs or embellishments to clothes you already own. Photography Sampler
Sample the world of photography. Students will get to explore the themes and styles of photography such as storytelling through images, freezing motion in sports, capturing nature through landscapes and more. Students will get to fully immerse themselves in the photo making process by learning how to control their camera settings such as shutter speed, ISO, F/stop, exposure compensation, and white balance. Couples Night Valentine’s Day Wreath Workshop
Looking for a unique and creative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day? If you are a couple, friends, partners, significant others, or even looking for a girl’s night out, then we have the experience for you! In this workshop 2 adults will collaborate to create a Valentine’s Day Wreath using simple techniques and textile materials. Participants of age will also be able to purchase beer and wine that will be brought right to you while you relax and enjoy the atmosphere. All supplies included.

We are feeling the love at the Coral Springs Museum of Art this Valentine’s Day, and we invite your family to join by attending our Valentine’s Day Wreath workshop! In this workshop, families will bond and collaborate in making a lovely Valentines Wreath. Connect with your loved ones in this creative and cozy art-making opportunity! Silly Rabbits – Pottery
Visiting artist Diane Lublinski will show you how to construct one of her iconic “Silly Rabbit” sculptures. Basic knowledge of wheel throwing and hand building is necessary. Students will explore carving and textural techniques, innovative glazing methods, and much more! The sculpture will be painted and fired during the workshop and ready for pick up one week later. A $20 material fee is included in workshop price. Please bring a snack and/or lunch.

Linoleum Block Printing – Printmaking
In this workshop, students will learn the basics methods, terms and tools of printmaking, primarily linoleum block printing. They will become knowledgeable with the materials, process, and tools required to successfully develop their figure from concept to completion.
Participants will master techniques and create several matted prints for framing and note cards with envelopes.

Art of Healing – Art Therapy
Leah Guzman, board certified art therapist and professional artist will guide you in creating a life wheel, looking at each section of our life for balance. In the second hour we will create art related to one area of our life that needs healing (releasing). In the last hour we will create art related to what we want to manifest in our lives. Each participant will receive a signed copy of my new book filled with creative exercises to heal and manifest.
