VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are an integral part of the success of our Museum operations and programming. Over 350+ volunteers each year, ranging in age from 14 and up, contribute their time and talents in a variety of ways within the areas of guest relations, education, membership, summer camps, events and more. Our volunteers are a major force in fulfilling our mission to educate and inspire the public. We literally couldn’t do it without them! The Coral Springs Museum of Art seeks volunteers from all backgrounds throughout the year as projects arise. A background in art is not required for most volunteer opportunities.

Volunteer

Are you passionate about art and enjoy meaningful conversations with others? Docents stimulate visitor curiosity, imagination, and individual expression by asking questions and encouraging the active participation of each tour group member.

The role of the volunteer museum docent is vital to the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Acting as a bridge between visitors and the exhibition, the docent is the catalyst for learning in the museum. It is the docent who guides visitors on their journeys of discovery, helping them blend what they already know with what they learn on the tour.

You don’t have to be an expert to become a docent. Our staff will provide training at the onset of new exhibitions and offer interpretive techniques to use. Qualities that make a dynamic docent are a warm and friendly attitude, a love of art, a desire to learn and teach as well as the ability to commit time to both the training and to giving tours. Visitors range from school tours to adult groups and families.
