Volunteer Application

Are you passionate about art and enjoy meaningful conversations with others? Docents stimulate visitor curiosity, imagination, and individual expression by asking questions and encouraging the active participation of each tour group member.

The role of the volunteer museum docent is vital to the Coral Springs Museum of Art. Acting as a bridge between visitors and the exhibition, the docent is the catalyst for learning in the museum. It is the docent who guides visitors on their journeys of discovery, helping them blend what they already know with what they learn on the tour.

You don’t have to be an expert to become a docent. Our staff will provide training at the onset of new exhibitions and offer interpretive techniques to use. Qualities that make a dynamic docent are a warm and friendly attitude, a love of art, a desire to learn and teach as well as the ability to commit time to both the training and to giving tours. Visitors range from school tours to adult groups and families.
