Adult art classes at the Coral Springs Museum of Art offer a welcoming space for beginners and experienced artists alike to explore new techniques, sharpen their skills, and connect with others through creativity. With a variety of mediums and expert instruction, these classes make it easy to unwind, get inspired, and keep your creative practice growing. Drawing Fundamentals
Build confidence and strengthen your core drawing skills in this 4-week workshop designed to provide a solid foundation in the arts. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to drawing after a break, this course provides a supportive introduction to the essential tools and techniques of observational drawing. Over four weeks, you’ll explore key concepts such as line, shape, proportion, shading, texture, and perspective. Through guided exercises and focused studies, you’ll learn how to really see your subject and translate what you observe onto the page. We’ll work with a variety of simple still-life setups and reference materials to help you develop accuracy, depth, and expressive mark-making. Always wanted to try the potter’s wheel? This 8-week beginner class is designed especially for adults who want to slow down, get their hands in clay, and build real skills in a supportive space.We’ll cover wedging, centering, coning, drilling, pulling walls, shaping forms like bowls and cylinders, trimming, handle variations, surface decoration and glazing. As the weeks progress, you’ll gain confidence, refine your technique, and develop your own style.Learning to throw on the wheel takes time, patience, and consistent practice. You’ll work on centering more efficiently, pulling consistent walls, improving shape control, and creating sets of functional wares like bowls, cups, and cylinders. Looking for one on one instruction? Private classes are great for artists that are interested in developing their skills and advancing them to the next level. These special lessons are especially great for artists who prefer focused one on one instruction or for someone who can’t make it to a scheduled group class.
