Class: Beginner Pottery Hand building & Wheel Throwing

June 13 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Curious about pottery but not sure where to start? This beginner-friendly workshop introduces you to both hand building and wheel throwing, giving you a well-rounded foundation in working with clay. You’ll explore essential hand-building techniques like pinch pots, coil building, and slab construction to create sculptural and functional pieces. On the wheel, you’ll learn the basics of centering, pulling walls, and shaping simple forms like bowls and cups. Along the way, we’ll cover surface decoration, texture, and glazing to help you personalize your work. This class is all about learning through making a relaxed, supportive environment. No experience is needed, just a willingness to experiment, get a little messy, and enjoy the process. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a variety of finished ceramic pieces that showcase both techniques, all glazed and fired for you.
